Are you a doctoral candidate or postdoc based in Finland exploring your next steps? Wondering what life looks like after the PhD?
Join us for an inspiring afternoon designed just for you!
The Finnish American Studies Association (FASA) is launching new initiatives to support early career researchers—and this is your chance to help shape them. At this kick-off event, you’ll:
✅ Hear real stories from scholars who’ve successfully navigated post-PhD career paths
✅ Connect with peers across Finland working on U.S.-related research
✅ Share your ideas on what support you need for your future

Followed by Q&A and open discussion.
- Networking Session:
Meet fellow researchers in small groups to discuss and share experiences about challenges, opportunities, and the future of American Studies in Finland. We would like to hear from you about what kind of support early career researchers need and what FASA can do to better provide that.

Maple Leaf and Eagle 2026 Conference in Helsinki, Finland
CFP: The 21st Maple Leaf and Eagle conference will take place on May 20–22, 2026, at the University of Helsinki.
Please submit your proposal (max. 300 words) for a 20-minute presentation, a short bio (max. 100 words), and contact information by October 31, 2025.
